The process & practical details

How we agree the scope, develop your design and help you move forward. Explore the process, an example design pack, fees and common questions.

THE PROCESS

From brief
to design.

A focused consultation can lead straight to an action plan. For room refreshes, room design and multiple spaces, we develop and refine a design direction. The steps below adapt to the support you choose.

  1. 01

    Begin with your everyday.

We talk about how you live, what feels difficult and what you would love to feel instead. Photographs, a rough plan and the pieces you already own are useful starting points.

What this gives youA shared brief: your priorities, your space and the feeling we are working towards.

  2. 02

    Agree what matters.

Before design work begins, we agree the rooms, the decisions you need help with and the level of detail. The proposal sets out the fee, deliverables, timing and opportunities to refine the work.

What this gives youA clear scope and fee, with the boundaries written down.

  3. 03

    Bring the direction to life.

Layout, colour, materials and light are considered together. We look at how existing pieces can belong in the new direction, and where a change will make the greatest difference.

What this gives youA connected design direction, presented in the formats agreed for your project.

  4. 04

    Look closer. Refine.

We discuss the choices in the context of your home: proportions, comfort, practical upkeep and budget. Samples should be seen in the room, and purchase decisions checked against actual dimensions.

What this gives youA refined set of choices, with feedback addressed within the agreed scope.

  5. 05

Make room for the next step.

We bring the agreed guidance together so you can see what to keep, what to change and what can wait. You can take a considered approach to putting the room together.

What this gives youA useful handover and a sequence of priorities, rather than a room full of disconnected ideas.

YOUR DELIVERABLES

SPACE BEFORE STUFF

A room with
a little breathing space.

Begin with the route through the room. Then bring the seating together around a shared rug and a table within comfortable reach.

  • Leave the entrance route open.
  • Let the seating form a conversation.
  • Check every dimension in the actual room.

SCOPE & INVESTMENT

How fees
